and build a personalised treatment plan to relieve pressure on the nerve.

How many sessions will I need?
This varies by condition, but many patients notice improvement within 3–5 sessions. We’lldiscuss a tailored plan at your first appointment. This depends on your individual problem, its severity, and the duration of symptoms. Every patient reacts differently; however, we can advise you on your likely recovery time. In most cases, you will feel a definite change for the better after the first treatment. In general though, the longer you have had the problem or pain, the longer it will take to get it sorted. Your commitment to the suggested treatment programme, including home exercises and any lifestyle alterations, will also affect your progress and your long-term benefits from osteopathic care.

What should I wear to my appointment?

An examination, which usually involves some undressing so that we can fully observe the body movements and problem area. However, if you are not comfortable with getting undressed, shorts and

T-shirt are also suitable. If you prefer, you may also have a friend or relative present during the appointment.

Do you offer acupuncture?

Yes, Toby does offer medical acupuncture as part of his treatment

Are you all registered osteopaths?

Yes. Our osteopaths are registered with the General Osteopathic Council. We offer receipts for fee payments so that you can seek reimbursement directly with your insurance company.

Are you registered with AXA and Bupa?

We no longer have contracts with AXA or Bupa due to their unfavourable practitioner terms. Patients have been successful in getting reimbursements directly with these companies via receipts. Please seek advice with them before booking.

Can babies, children and the elderly have osteopathy?

Yes. Everyone can benefit from our treatment, no matter what their age. The techniques we use on children and infants are very different to those we use on adults. As children are very delicate, we adapt our treatment to suit the needs of the young body.

Is Osteopathy safe during pregnancy?

Osteopathic treatment is gentle and safe throughout your pregnancy, although we advise against undergoing some techniques in the first 12 weeks. In fact, pregnancy is a good time to visit us, since your body is changing so much and so quickly. We can ease any restrictions and strains quite simply, as your ligaments are softer than usual during pregnancy. The help we provide may also make labour easier through the balancing effect it has on the joints and ligaments.
